Sea Run Steelhead
A highly sought after wild, winter fish, “Steelhead” is the name for a sea run rainbow trout. As one of the most wide-ranging fish, the rainbow trout live in cold, flowing freshwater, but the steelhead have ocean-going runs. High in heart-healthy Omega 3’s, the wild steelhead can grow to a record 3 feet.
Size: 6lbs 12lbs- head on/gutted.
Taste Profile: Excellent fat content, very firm with a rich taste. The flesh is a deep orange.
Location and Season: Our Sea Run Steelhead are caught at the mouth of the Quinault River in the state of Washington by the Quinault Tribe. The season runs from late November through February.
